Description

Dear FIFSW Alumni,

Now that the cold weather is fully upon us, what better way to spend an evening than discussing a wonderful book with like-minded alumni at the FIFSW Alumni Association Book Club? We’re now in our second year and the feedback has been wonderful - a big thank you for all those who participated in the fun last year. This year, we’ve hand-selected some highly regarded fiction books that have received accolades far and wide.

The next book club meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. at the FIFSW (246 Bloor Street West, Room 214) and online for those who aren’t able to attend in person. The book is “Beartown” by Fredrik Backman (author of “A Man Called Ove”). This book, which was awarded Book of the Year by several sources, promises to be enchanting, thought provoking, and current to many issues taking place in today’s world.

We hope you can join us on the 22nd for some energizing and thoughtful discussion. If you do plan on participating, please RSVP via the Eventbrite link so that we make sure our room size is sufficient and so that we know how much food to order for our light meal.

For those who are interested in planning ahead, here are the books and dates for the next few meetings:

· Wednesday, March 25th – All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (To register: https://alumnibookmarch.eventbrite.ca)

· Wednesday, May 20th – The One-In-A-Million Boy by Monica Wood (To register: https://alumnibookmay.eventbrite.ca)

We look forward to seeing you there!
